Easter Sunday

We enjoyed celebrating our first Easter with Joel. I found myself getting choked up during church when I looked at him. I am just so thankful that he is our son! He is such a blessing from God, and while I thought about the amazing gift of Christ's death and resurrection on Easter, I thought about the amazing gift of our son as well.

We spent the afternoon and evening at my parent's house where we ate too much, visited with family, amused ourselves by watching Joel with his Easter gifts, and attempted to take outdoor pictures of Joel before the rain started. We got a couple of cute ones:

Joel received some nice gifts from Grandma and Grandpa and Aunt Diane.

A book about bulldozers

Yummy fruit snacks

A sand truck and tools

A handmade basket by Grandma

One more thing to be thankful for this Easter is being able to eat ice cream again! While giving up ice cream for Lent wasn't nearly as difficult as giving up chocolate, I still about swooned during that first bite of B&J's Half Baked. You can be sure the rest of it will be gone by tomorrow. :)
We hope you all had a wonderful Easter, too!
