Our Second Day in Seoul

We definitely crammed a lot into one day! Since we're meeting Joel tomorrow, we don't know how much time we'll have to sightsee, not to mention the fact that tomorrow is supposed to be another day of very heavy rain. Today we...

-Encountered our first Korean squat toilets and communal bar of soap on a stick.

-Went to the Changdeokgung Palace, only to find out that it is closed on Mondays.

-Saw beautiful views of Seoul from the Seoul Tower.

-Did more shopping at Itaewon, which is a street of more little shops and souvenirs.

-Visited Namdaemun Market, one of the most interesting places we've ever seen. The packet of information our agency gave us said that they recommended taking a Korean guide when visiting...we can definitely see why!

-Enjoyed a very nonKorean meal of...pizza and pasta! Our stomachs really needed a break from spicy food.

-Probably walked five miles.

-Think we got the hang of the subway system.

-Bought a hanbok for Joel! A hanbok is traditional Korean clothing. We knew we wanted to buy one, and looked at every store that sold them to find one we liked. None of them really stood out to us, but today we found the one. Kind of like finding your wedding dress, you know it's the right one when you start to tear up after seeing it.

-Thought so much of what our meeting with Joel will be like tomorrow!! We'll try to post pictures for everyone.

Yeah, what a great experience for your family. Im happy you found the hanbok you wanted and love. That is amazing. One thought....while you are there maybe get some things for his one year birthday. We are trying to find things here for Grace and can't find much for Korean things where we live. Now as I write you are sleeping...maybe? probebly fill of excitement to meet your son !
