Here He Is!

We just got back from our first meeting with Joel and it was so wonderful! Joel Hwan is the cutest, chubbiest, sweetest, most easygoing, most adorable, cutest, most curious, cutest (did I already mention that?) baby boy ever! It was so emotional to hold him for the first time. We had a great visit and the foster mother gave us a beautiful photo album of him with a note written on the first page to him. It is so special. She also gave him a beautiful hanbok to wear on his first birthday. We found out a lot of information about him, including that he sleeps from 10-11 pm to 8-9 am, waking up for a bottle around 4am. He takes two naps a day, an hour in the morning and three hours in the afternoon. He cries only when he is hungry (which is a lot, she said!) and likes to ride on the foster mother's back in a carrier. He loves bananas, and also eats potatoes and rice cereal. He weighs about 21 pounds, which is actually smaller than we thought although he looks bigger! Here's what you've all been waiting for. :)

We will officially take Joel on Thursday morning. It seems so far away--even though we just met him it feels like a piece of us is missing. We'll post more thoughts later. We're off to the National Museum of Korea!
