Ten Months

We can't believe that Joel is ten months old today! He has grown up so much in the past two months. He recently had his first haircut (with us, at least). He looked so much older afterward!

I feel like he's moving past the baby stage, which is sad when we already missed so much of it to begin with. It's also exciting to think of what we have to look forward to! He has been much more mobile and independent lately. He can now pull himself up on pretty much anything (including chairs and unstable toys) and can cruise along the couch once he's up! We've taught him how to turn the pages of a book, which is adorable. We're also working on some simple sign language with him--more, all done, mommy, daddy, and banana. I'm sure it will be awhile before he uses it, but the more he sees us do the signs, the easier it will be for him to catch on.

He is becoming a little wiggle worm! The last time I took him to church (which was a few weeks ago) he sat on our laps most of the service, quite content. Yesterday, however, was a different story! He did not want to sit still and kept trying to get down from our laps. He was only happy when crawling on the floor and attempting to chew on power cords. At home, toys hold little interest when he can stand holding on to the couch or the table. Life has become a lot more crazy, but it's a good thing!

It's been such a joy to watch Joel grow up at home the past two months. We love our little boy to pieces! Here are some pictures of him on his ten month birthday.
