Happy Halloween from Our Little Monkey

We had so much fun celebrating Joel's first Halloween! He enjoyed the Halloween party last night with our group of friends. And yes, there are 14 children between five families. It definitely makes for a crazy time when we get together!

Today we saw our friends N and J, went trick-or-treating with Grandma, and surprised the other grandparents with a visit from our sweet monkey. Everyone found Joel's costume adorable and gave him lots of lovin'. Before we went trick-or-treating, we showed Joel the wonder of leaves in the fall. He was quite happy sitting in them...

...especially when they began to fall from the sky.

While we were trick-or-treating at Grandma's neighbor, we politely declined the offer of candy. Joel apparently didn't like that decision, because he stuck his hand into the bowl and pulled out gummi life-savers!

At first he wasn't too sure...

...but then he decided it might be good enough to put in his mouth, wrapper and all.

Since it was Joel's first Halloween and all, I did bite off a tiny piece of one of the life-savers for him. There are no pictures of this event--because we don't give Joel candy or sugar. We can't be seen giving Joel something as nutritionally deficient as a gummi life-saver...we'd never live it down!

Happy Halloween, everyone!
