We got the news yesterday that our home study was approved by DCFS, which happened faster than we expected! This makes us one step closer to sending our paperwork to Korea. Our home study is now on its way to USCIS (US Citizenship and Immigration Services). They need to look over our information and approve it as well. Our social worker guesses this will take around 3-6 weeks, but we've heard much longer from other adoptive families--in some cases as long as 4-6 months. Since DCFS was quicker than we thought, we're taking that as a good sign that USCIS approval will be on the shorter side. We'll keep you posted!
